Before you start
- An active Twilio account (free trial works)
- Your Account SID and Auth Token from the Twilio console
- At least one Twilio number with voice capability
Step 1. Get your Twilio credentials
Sign into the Twilio Console. From the dashboard, copy your Account SID and Auth Token. Keep these secret. Anyone with the token can place calls billed to your Twilio account.
Use a subaccount if you run multiple environments. That way revoking access for a single workspace does not affect the rest of your Twilio setup.
Step 2. Add credentials to Floo
In the Floo dashboard, open Settings, then Telephony. Click Connect Twilio. Paste your Account SID and Auth Token. Floo validates the credentials against the Twilio API and confirms the connection.
Step 3. Import your numbers
- Go to Numbers, then Import
- Select the Twilio numbers you want to route through Floo
- Choose which agent each number should pick up
- Floo updates the voice webhook on each number to point at the runtime
Floo stores your original Twilio voice webhook URL so when you release a number, the previous webhook is restored automatically.
What ships out of the box
- Inbound + outbound voice calls
- SMS send + receive (optional)
- STIR/SHAKEN attestation passthrough
- Per-call recording stored in your Twilio account
Common errors
Authentication failed. Re-check that the token is from the same account as the SID and not expired. Numbers do not ring. Confirm the voice URL on the Twilio number now points at the Floo runtime URL shown in the import step.
