Before you start
- Stripe account (production keys for real billing)
- Decision: charge customers directly or operate as platform with Connect
- Per-tier price IDs created in Stripe (Starter, Pro, Business, Enterprise)
Step 1. Connect your Stripe account
In the Floo dashboard, open Billing, then Stripe, then Connect. Paste your Stripe secret key. Floo creates a webhook endpoint on your behalf so paid invoices and subscription updates sync automatically.
Always start with test mode keys. Switch to live keys only after a full end-to-end test top-up flow.
Step 2. Map per-minute prices
Floo's voice tiers map one to one to Stripe metered prices. The setup wizard auto-creates four prices if you do not have them yet: Starter ($0.09/min), Pro ($0.14/min), Business ($0.19/min), Enterprise ($0.29/min). Customise rate cards in Stripe and Floo picks up the changes on next sync.
Step 3. Set wallet behaviour
- Prepaid wallet: customer tops up upfront, calls deduct in real time
- Postpaid metered: monthly Stripe invoice based on minutes used
- Hybrid: prepaid floor, overage on metered invoice
What ships out of the box
- Top-up checkout (Stripe Checkout link or embedded form)
- Per-minute deduction tracked to the cent
- Auto-invoice for overage at the end of each billing cycle
- Customer portal where end users update card and download invoices
Agencies running multiple end-customer workspaces should use Stripe Connect Standard. Each workspace gets its own connected account so revenue routes cleanly without touching the platform balance.
Webhooks Floo listens to
checkout.session.completed (top-up), invoice.paid (postpaid billing), customer.subscription.updated (plan changes), and charge.refunded (reverse a top-up). All processed idempotently.
